If you've got a goalpost bankstick setup but want to fish wooden or concrete swims then your normal solution is to buy a completely new rod pod (or at least invest in stage stands).

However, the team at Wychwood has come up with a much more cost-effective solution that pulls off the tricky task of being both practical and easy on the eye.

Yes, it's effectively just a pair of bars that brace your quad-bankstick setup, but it's very nicely done and doesn't look like a 'tacked on' afterthought.

There are two sizes to fit Wychwood's existing bankware range, but they will also fit almost all other banksticks on the market. The Slims will cater for sticks with a 12.5mm-14mm diameter, while the Wides will hold 15.5mm-17.5mm banksticks.

Like all Wychwood bankware, the Cross Bars come with a mightily impressive five-year warranty and are made from aluminum with a lovely matte coating. The subtle Wychwood logos are also a very neat touch.

The Cross Bars are adjustable and the internal section locks tightly against the thumbscrew thanks to its flattened edge.

If you've got a trusty goalpost setup but want the flexibility and stability of using it like a pod then we cannot think of a better solution. It might be a slightly niche product but it's executed brilliantly.
