The journey from car park to swim, complete with all the kit, bait and creature comforts needed for a weekend’s fishing, can make for an exhausting start to a session.

Throw a few steep inclines and muddy, waterlogged paths into the equation, and you can end up a sweaty, tired mess before the rigs have even been tied.

Salvation is at hand thanks to Nash’s new Trax Evo Power Barrow, and its slightly smaller brother, the Trax Metro Power Barrow.

Released just last month, they combine a huge load capacity with a centrally mounted and very powerful 24-volt (2x12V) 150-watt motor, complete with a variable speed trigger.

Many of the early ‘power barrow’ incarnations only offered half this power and, while battery life depends on the weight of kit being transported and the terrain being tackled, each barrow will move an 80kg load for around four miles before needing to be recharged.

Both models can also be used as standard barrows, with the option of engaging the power only when faced with difficult terrain… or when your energy levels begin to wane.

The frames are made from high-strength steel, with attachment points provided for load-securing straps.

The batteries are mounted centrally within the frame, adding further to the barrow’s stability, and all the wiring is tucked away inside the metalwork.

The waterproofed control box ensures continued performance in any weather.

The barrows are also super stable thanks to the (supplied) removable rear wheel kits, so no more precarious balancing of the barrow and its load.

The angled rear legs have spring-locking height adjustments, further aiding stability, and soft-grip moulded handles complete the package.

Each barrow comes with a mains charger, battery bag and rear wheel kit.

Perfect for those who struggle with back problems, or related physical issues, or who like to fish remote swims.
