FIRST-LOOK REVIEW: Solar Tackle SP All-Terrain Barrows [VIDEO]

Another first for Solar, which is bringing plenty of new products to the market in 2018, is a pair of carp barrows.

The key difference between the two? The number of wheels.

RRP: £240 (two-wheel) and £199.99 | www.solartackle.co.uk

One wheel good, two wheels better!

The 18kg two-wheel version, with both wheels at the front, is hugely stable yet not overly bulky.

The aluminium frame reduces weight, while the steel handles eliminate any fear of twisting or buckling if your load threatens to topple over. The single-wheel version (15.96kg) is just the same.

The one-wheel version is slightly more compact

The handle system on both versions is very clever. The long upright section of the handles feeds through a metal loop on the back legs, locking them in place.

There is nothing worse than trying to balance or manoeuvre a barrow with collapsing back legs, and this is an innovative fail-safe locking mechanism.

A waterproof drop-in storage bag is also supplied with both barrows, providing extra stowage space and the ability to leave items in situ in a weatherproof container.

Everything else, including puncture-proof wheels, looks fairly standard and we look forward to giving these models a proper test.
