FIRST-LOOK REVIEW: Fox Voyager rod holdalls [VIDEO]

Fox has managed to make some significant improvements to the concept of the rod holdall with its Voyager Rod Case range.

RRP: £149.99 (12ft 3+3 version) | www.foxint.com

The new Voyager range of luggage is well thought out across the board, but the selection of rod holdalls, or Rod Cases, as Fox calls them, stood out.

Offering four and six-rod options (in a top-and-tale configuration) for both 12ft and 13ft rods, the comprehensive Voyager range even includes a four-rod option for 10ft rods.

What you’ll immediately notice about these holdalls is the way no space is wasted. These are sculpted holdalls that look great and are much less bulky than many similar models.

The mid section features three different-sized pockets in which to store leads, leaders, spods, markers and any other bits that will help you get fishing quickly.

In other areas, these holdalls are thin where they need to be and deep where the reels and butt rings sit. These areas are all very well protected with reinforced PU boards and will fit even the biggest reels and 50mm butt rings.

The outside is made from a very tough-feeling water-resistant fabric , and the foam-covered grab handles are well placed and perfect for manoeuvring the Voyager in and out of a car.

We’ve yet to give them a full long-term review, but having got our hands on a number of these new models we are seriously impressed.

A great match of looks and performance
