Yateley’s historic Car Park Lake is still throwing up beauties like this pair of linears.
The famous old pit, once home to fish like Arfur and Heather the Leather, did Tom Marsh proud with the two 29-pounders during a Saturday overnighter.
He said: “With nothing being caught Saturday morning and not a lot of fish activity in all the usual areas, I followed some good advice on where some fish were heard on the Friday night.
“After a quick lead about I found a silty patch in between two weedbeds, close to a bar that the carp love to patrol, and deposited 6 Spombs of crushed and whole CC Moore Pacific Tuna, Mini Ultra Mix pellets, hemp and a good dash of Krill Amino Compound.
“Hookbait-wise, I opted for my ever-faithful trimmed-down Pacific Tuna wafter topped off with a trimmed-down 12mm Dairy Supreme pop-up.
“Just three hours in and the right-hand rod was away with one of the lake’s gems known as the Little Lin at 29lb.
“Hearing a few fish crash in the night close by, I was feeling confident of another bite in the morning and at 8.30am the same rod was away!
“This one turned out to be one of the younger fish known as Douce’s Lin at 29lb 6oz.”
