Terry Wood continued his remarkable season at Linear Fisheries by amassing a haul of 38 fish to over 40lb on his latest visit.
Targeting Manor Farm Lake on the Oxfordshire complex, he initially struggled for bites before settling on the winning approach and banking Spike at 40lb 8oz.
He said: “Action was slow until I found what the fish wanted – little red-and-black zigs presented just under the surface. These had been soaking for a year in Sticky Signature bait spray.
“Most of the bites came between 10am and 8pm, but I soon realised that by shortening my zigs by 2ft the bites kept coming for a further two hours.”
Following a change in the weather, Terry switched to fishing Krill wafters on the deck, adding five more carp to 37lb 8oz, before switching back to zigs once the weather changed again.
“I was chilling with a few mates when my left-rod slowly ticked off. After a short battle I landed a mirror that I recognised as one called ‘Spike’. What a session!” he added.
