Two friends enjoyed a session to remember at Holme Fen, banking 24 fish between them for more than 730lb.
Nathan Price and Ryan Hammond doubled up in the Party Point swim at the open-access Cambridgeshire venue and over the duration of a week landed six 30s, ten 40s and the biggest of the trip at 53lb.
The rest were over 20lb.
Nathan, from Stoke-on-Trent, banked the 50 – which set a new personal best – over an area he had heavily baited with Shimano Isolate LM94 boilies, offering a matching pop-up on a hinged stiff rig over the top.
Pal Ryan, from Nottingham, opted for a hempseed-and-maize approach over smaller baited areas, and managed a raft of big fish himself to a best of 48lb 8oz.
Nathan was fishing at 100 yards to a clear spot among very heavy weed. The 38-year-old said: “The fish were really up for a feed and we provided an onslaught of loosefeed with the Spombs over the length of our stay.
“It was a proper red-letter week!”
