A tiny sample pack of free boilies was all Mick Skeet needed to land this monstrous day-ticket common.
Armed with just four CC Moore Equinox boilies in a taster bag, Mick tackled Swan Lake on the Bluebell complex and bagged the Box Common at 47lb, plus another carp of 19lb 14oz.
Said Mick: “Only single boilies were fished, with no free offerings, as I did not have any to spare!”
“I was fishing Swan Lake and the common I caught at 47lb is known as the Box Common and is a much sought-after fish in that particular lake.
“It was caught on a free-running rig in the margin on a CC Moore Equinox boilie sample, of which I only had four.
“I also had a back-up fish of 19lb 14oz caught within seven minutes of fishing that margin spot, and the common came roughly two hours after that.”
