It often pays to arrive at a busy day-ticket venue on a Sunday if you can, and it certainly worked for Nathan Mcgrory at Linear Fisheries.
The 28-year-old arrived at the end of the weekend rush to bag a 27lb 4oz common and the Pretty One at 39lb 13oz from Manor Farm on the Oxfordshire complex.
“After arriving early Sunday morning for a 24-hour session it was imperative I got as close to feeding fish as possible,” said the Birmingham angler.
“To my surprise there were pegs available with fish showing. Within the first couple of hour I found a spot large enough to present three rods on and bait heavily, hoping for a few quick bites.
“They came sure enough, firstly a nice 27lb 4oz common to get off the mark, then no sooner had I baited with half a dozen Spombs, wrapped up and recast the same rod was off again resulting in one of Manor’s A-Team, the Pretty One.”
Nathan baited with 2kg of Sticky Krill boilies and 1kg of matching pellets and fished D rigs.
