Squads announced for Anglo-Welsh carp match

The second match between Wales and England's female carp teams is set to be a close affair, according to Rob Hughes.

The Carp Team England boss saw his charges comprehensively beat Wales in the first 48-hour showdown at Barston Lakes last year, but expects a tougher test on Welsh soil.

He said: "It will be a great event and one which is going to be seriously contested. We’re not expecting an easy ride by any stretch of the imagination and the Welsh team are very strong this year. However, we’ve been out practising and are on form, so get ready for a great battle.”

The two sides will come together at White Springs near Swansea from Friday, April 28. Three pairs from each nation will battle it out under a mixture of international and domestic rules.
