Adam Fisher banked his 14th Redmire 20-pounder during a memorable session at the famous Herefordshire pool.
Having secured five days in the opening week with friend Simon Biddle, the angling guide endured a blank first two day before a visit from his partner and three-year-old daughter Daisy lifted his spirits.
“Twenty minutes after they left I was rejuvenated,” said Adam, “so I crept up the shallows with a handful of halibut pellets, and as I flicked them in one by one there were two decent fish going down on them in turn.”
Having underarmed a pellet hookbait into the area it didn’t take long for Adam to get a bite.
“The fish took in about a minute and almost ripped the rod out of my hand – there was no line trickling away across the surface!
“After all hell broke loose – the shallows a thick red from all the silt kicked up – she was mine.
“At 21lb 12oz not my biggest Redmire 20, it was one of the most memorable and I think my 14th one from there.”
Adam used a 14mm Bankside pellet hair rigged to a size 6 Drennan Continental Boilie Hook tied to a 15lb Korda N-Trap hooklink.
