Raking her own clear spot helped Sarah Riley bank this day-ticket 48-pounder at the weekend.
Mixing it with the Bank Holiday crowds at Bluebell Lakes in Northamptonshire, the 41-year-old was made to wait for this 48lb 4oz common from Kingfisher Lake.
“In the final hour on Monday morning before packing up to come home, my alarm set off loud with one tone,” said the Yorkshire Water agent.
“It took a while to get in, with the heavy weed in front of me, but it was all worthwhile in the end.”
Explaining her tactics, Sarah said: “On a highly pressured Bank Holiday weekend session I decided to rake out a section of weed and fish two rods either side of the clear area.”
Sarah, who baited with Nash Scopex Squid boilies, added: “I do not get many fishing opportunities on a regular basis, so this was a fantastic catch for me, and my new personal best!”
