One of Linear Fisheries' oldest fish dies

One of Linear Fisheries' most treasured carp has been found dead.

The St John's mirror known as the Small Plated died last weekend, the Oxfordshire venue confirmed.

The fish, which regularly topped 40lb, was one of the more elusive fish on the complex, sometimes going many months without capture.

The fishery said: "Unfortunately, over the weekend we lost one of St John's big fish, the mirror known as the Small Plated.

"She was one of the oldest fish at the complex and will be missed.

Reacting on Facebook, Linear regular Chris Lowe said: "One of the true gems of the complex and a sad loss. One of the best fish I ever had the pleasure of caching."

Brad Greening, who caught the fish at 45lb 8oz in May, also paid tribute to the fish on Facebook.
