New lake record at open-access venue

This 46lb 10oz mirror came during a short winter feeding spell and set a new lake record at Mustang Lake in Norfolk.

The fish was caught by local angler Rob Oldfield and was hooked while he was playing a 28lb common.

Five-acre Mustang Lake is part of Rich Wilby’s Airfield Lakes site and can be booked exclusively for up to seven anglers. It was previously a day-ticket venue.

Rich told Carpfeed: “This fish was stocked into Mustang at 15lb by VS Fisheries in 2010 and is now 46lb 10oz at 13 years old.”

Rob caught the fish from open water over a spread of boilies.

46lb 10oz and just 13 years old. The fish, not the captor!
