Park-lake angling is often full of surprises, and during a recent session at a suburban spot Andrew Riste had two of them – one pleasant, one less so!
The South Wales angler visited Cardiff’s Roath Park Lake and bagged this glorious 30lb common, but not before a completely naked man gave him a shock.
Fishing with a mate at the popular boating lake, Andrew’s strange encounters began in the hours of darkness.
He told Carpfeed: “At 2am we thought we had seen someone walk behind us and had a strange feeling they were hanging around the park, so we went to check it out.
“After looking around for a few minutes we couldn't see anyone so decided to go back to the rods.
“As I was walking back, a naked man appeared from absolutely nowhere, completely scaring the s**t out of me!
“We thought it was an ailen or something, so I got my phone out and took a pic as he ran away into the night!
“We sat up for few hours laughing uncontrollably and also trying to work out what had actually happened, then as it started to get light bite time was upon us and my left-hand rod in the margin completely melted off.
“An intense battle ensued and I soon landed a stunning park lake 30lb common. Incredible!”
Andrew, who had also banked a smaller common the previous day, fed Nash Scopex Squid boilie flake and presented matching Cultured pop-ups over the top.
