A Midlands gravel pit has produced its second 50lb common.
The Main Lake at Girton in Nottinghamshire rehomed two commons – Butthead and Tutti – when Pendle View in Lancashire closed, and the pair are clearly thriving in their new home.
Butthead was always the bigger of the two and was last caught at 56lb 5oz in May, but Tutti has now been banked for the first time over 50lb.
Weighing in at an impressive 53lb 4oz, the fish was caught by Warren Jordan. He fed a 3kg mix of Nash Scopex Squid and Key Cray boilies.
Girton’s Oliver Browne told Carpfeed: “It's the first time the fish has done 50lb. It was about 41lb when stocked.”
