Max Hendry banked one of Linear Fisheries’ most-wanted carp to beat his personal best by over 10lb.
The Box Common came from St John’s yesterday [28/3] on the popular Oxfordshire day-ticket complex and weighed in at 46lb 15oz.
Fishing in the Left Hand Point swim, Max fished three rods at 88yds.
He said: "I watched as my mate Jim Wilson got an early morning bite to my left, and as I stood in my swim I received just four beeps on the R3 alarm as the bobbin dropped back.
"I lifted into a solid resistance and literally steadily reeled it in with a slow nod on the rod tip and no fight at all.
"I saw its tail and had a good idea of what fish it was and at that point I was shaking. As it turned head on I knew what fish it was.
"With that, Joe from Carpology slipped the net under it. I literally walked out of the swim in disbelief as Joe took a better look. I was shocked.
"We weighed her at 46lb 15oz, smashing my pb by over 10lb."
Max, who works as the brand manager for Nashbait, used a Ronnie rig with a Nash Claw hook and a yellow Nashbait Scopex Squid pop-up.
The 27-year-old baited with five Spombs of Scopex Squid Flake, 12mm boilies, sweetcorn and bait soak over his three rods.
