Rob Hales and son Harry blitzed the Avenue with an incredible run of fish just before the lake closed for a scheduled spawning break.
Rob, who created the venue as part of his RH Fisheries portfolio, led the way with two fish for an incredible 112lb 12oz comprising Breezeblock at 56lb and Ellie at 56lb 12oz.
Harry also got in on the act with four different 40s, topped by a 49lb 12oz mirror known as Zac.
“We fished a social session for two nights and three days at the end of the season,” said Rob, “the fishery is now closed for 10 weeks to allow the fish to spawn and recover in peace.”
He added: “We did a draw and I picked a swim called Pete’s Point and baited very heavily with a bait we make called the Edge, plus maize, sweetcorn and pellets. I used approximately 40kg of bait.
“I caught the mirror at 70yds, just short of a bar that runs down the middle of the lake. The common was caught very close at 30yds.”
Elsewhere on the Shropshire syndicate lake, Harry’s quartet of 40s weighed in at 40lb 12oz, 44lb 6oz, 44lb 12oz and 49lb 12oz.
Rob’s successful tactics were Edge and maize hookbaits mounted on combi rigs.
