Stuart Clarke’s first ever bite at Kingfisher Lake on the Bluebell complex resulted in a huge new personal best weighing 48lb 12oz.
The Northants day-ticket venue has been in scintillating form over recent weeks, producing a string of huge commons, and Stuart added his name to that growing list when he banked the huge fish from a weedy spot.
The fish picked up his white Mainline New Grange pop-up, presented on a Ronnie rig. It was his only bite of a 48-hour session.
Stuart, who baited up with 2kg of Cell freebies, said: “I got the bite at 4.30 in the afternoon, and it took me 20 minutes to land after taking me into two weedbeds!
“It’s a stunning fish.”
He used a rig made from Korda components and a JPrecision barbless hook.
