An emotional anniversary saw Andrew Symons remember his late father with a new personal best in a 10-fish haul.
Six years on from the day he lost his dad, the 31-year-old bagged a 37lb 10oz pb mirror from the Syndicate Lake at Emperor Lakes in Devon.
Andrew also managed a pb common of 27lb 6oz and four other 20s.
“He was definitely looking down on me this weekend,” said the Plymouth angler.
Andrew fished to the marginal shelf under an overhanging tree off the point of an island and baited with 12mm DNA S7 boilies soaked in matching liquid.
The plumber trimmed down a matching wafter into a pear shape and presented it over the top on an IQ D rig.
“It was a very memorable and emotional session,” said Andrew.
Set in Yorkshire in 1994, a British film about a group of youngsters going carp fishing will be released in cinemas next month
