One of the most well-known, but seldom-caught, koi carp in the country has hit the bank.
The aptly named Carrot from Suffolk Water Park’s Main Lake might be hugely conspicuous with its bright-orange flanks, but it rarely gets caught.
John Dale was the man to do it this time, banking the 27lb 4oz ornamental along with a 25lb mirror.
John was fishing from peg 23 in the shallowest part of the Ipswich day-ticket lake and presented an 18mm Mainline Cell wafter on a D rig in the margins. He fed matching 15mm and 18mm boilies over the top.
John’s son Luke has also been among the fish at Suffolk Water Park, taking plenty of carp from Match Lake 2.
