Zigs seem to be the hot tactic of the last week across the country, and Craig Burton was just one angler to cash in.
This 35lb 2oz mirror came from Kingfisher Lake on the Bluebell day-ticket complex in Northamptonshire during a 72-hour session.
The fish came as part of a double take which saw mechanic Craig also land a 20lb-plus common.
The 42-year-old said: “It was cloudy and there were light winds. Fish were rolling and definitely in the upper layers, so I moved my rods accordingly.
“I used 10ft zigs with a size 10 Nash Flota Claw hook and black foam soaked in Citruz spray.
“I had a double take resulting in a 22lb common and this 35-pounder.”
