Big commons don’t come much better looking than this superb 42lb fish banked by Anthony Tanti during a 48-hour session at Farriers Lake in the Cotswolds.
The 54-year-old used a Ronnie Rig baited with a Mainline Cell pop-up, which he presented at just over 60yds’ range.
Anthony said: “Farriers is known not to have particularly good winter form but I took advantage of a brief period of mild weather and decided to give it a go.
“After many hours of watching the lake I saw a couple of fish show at about 16 wraps, and cast a single pop-up with a small PVA stick attached to the area. Not long after that, my rod was away!”
Set in Yorkshire in 1994, a British film about a group of youngsters going carp fishing will be released in cinemas next month
