A trip to France’s historic but taxing Cassien gave Claudia Darga a new personal best.
The vast venue, which can only be fished during the day, produced a 54lb 7oz common for the German star.
Claudia’s four-day session produced just the one bite, as the light was fading on day three.
She said: “My aim was to catch a fish in this lake during the day as night fishing is not allowed.
“On the third day I got my first and only take within the last hour of fishing.
“The take was followed by a huge thunderstorm and never-ending rain.”
The fish picked up chilli tiger nut paired with a white 14mm Dynamite Monster Tigernut boilie surrounded by just a handful of tigers and two handfuls of matching boilies.
Claudia added: “After a heavy fight in open water with a lot of rain, I won the fight and caught a massive two-tone common.
“My first fish from Lac de Saint Cassien and also a new personal best.”
