Carp angling's biggest name to appear at Big One show

The Big One Show at Farnborough has scored a massive scoop by landing the biggest name in carp fishing.

Former British-record holder and renowned storyteller Terry Hearn will give a talk to the crowds at biggest fishing show in the country.

Terry, who needs no introduction to most anglers in Britain, will be appearing on the John Wilson Legends Stage on Saturday afternoon.

Tickets can be bought online at www.thebigoneshow.co.uk

Other confirmed speakers from the world of carp fishing across the weekend include:

  • Ali Hamidi

  • Tom Dove

  • Neil Spooner

  • Rob Hughes

  • Adam Penning

  • Julian Cundiff

  • Ian Russell

All-rounders including Jeremy Wade and Dean Macey, plus plenty of coarse-angling stars, will also be appearing at the event.

PARKING SORTED

Big One Show organisers have confirmed there will be parking on the grass area right next to the show building in 2019.

This year there will be an additional 2,100 spaces for visitors, including room for over 1,000 vehicles on the grass area right outside the entrance to the show.

Importantly, the car park used last year which involved a 35-minute walk for some visitors will not be used this time.

Instead, they’ve secured spaces at all the closest car parks to the halls, the furthest just an 11-minute stroll to the front door with most accessible within three or four minutes.

To make the trip from car to show even easier, organisers have doubled the number of buggies and minibuses to transport visitors and their purchases!

A new ‘Shop & Drop’ facility inside the show will also be in operation this year too so anyone who buys bigger or heavier items of tackle will be able to leave them safely and continue their look around the show.

“The grass parking served us well for the last nine years,” said show director Vince Davies. “Last year was very unfortunate as the weather was so wet in the run up to the show that we were unable to use it which led to the problems we had.

“We’re doing everything in our power to make sure this a smooth event for all visitors and the extra parking we’ve secured and facilities we’re providing will help massively.”

NEW STONELEIGH SHOW

Midlands anglers are set for an unmissable event in 2019 as the famous Big One Show launches a new event at Stoneleigh Park in the heart of the country.

Taking over the TWO GIANT HALLS at the easy-access Warwickshire location, the region’s newest show has been confirmed for Saturday and Sunday April 13 and 14 2019, and promises to be a must-visit experience.

Stand space is already filling up fast with some of the country’s biggest manufacturers already signed up to attend and show off the best new tackle and baits for the new season.

And, with the nation’s top retailers also booked in, there will be some incredible deals for coarse, carp, and pleasure anglers looking to kit themselves out.

Event director Vince Davies, who has run the Big One Show in Farnborough for two decades, reckons Stoneleigh has all the hallmarks of being an unmissable event for all anglers.

“Stoneleigh Park is a fabulous location for a fishing show.

“It’s easy to get to from anywhere in the Midlands with great transport links, there’s loads of free parking on site, and two comfortable halls which we’re going to pack out with tackle!”

“This year will be the biggest in Big One Show history – make sure you’re there to experience it,” added Vince.
