UPDATE: THE FULL STORY OF SCOTT LLOYD'S CAPTURE OF THE BURGHFIELD COMMON IS HERE
Scott Lloyd has this afternoon caught one of Britain's most sought-after carp at its biggest weight ever.
The Burghfield Common, which has been banked by greats such as Terry Hearn, Oz Holness and Dave Lane, pulled the scales round to an incredible 62lb 8oz.
The fish, which has only been caught a handful of times, had not previously weighed more than 57lb 8oz. It was last caught by Dave Lane almost three years ago in June 2014 at 55lb 5oz.
It resides in the £500-a-year Burghfield Main Lake, near Reading in Berkshire, and is usually caught post-spawning time.
Britain's biggest common remains the Lee Jackson Fish at Kent's Strawberry Fields which was caught by Leanne Jaynes at 63lb 4oz in 2014.
