Mallard Lake on the Bluebell Lakes complex has produced a 40lb-plus mirror.
This magnificent 40lb 2oz fish fell to bailiff Trev Cooke during a three-day session on the Northamptonshire day-ticket water.
The 63-year-old fished a peg known as the Fence Swim on the Road Bank, casting 17 wraps (68yds) to a hard spot.
The part-time lorry driver from Boston in Lincolnshire, who spodded out particles and Dynamite Crave boilies, also managed three stockies to 20lb during his session.
“It was a typical big-fish take, staying low and hogging the marginal shelf,” said Trev. “It took 30 minutes to land.”
The fish, which Trev named Rossco after his newborn grandson, is the fifth 40 in Mallard’s history.
It picked up a 16mm pink Crave pop-up.
Set in Yorkshire in 1994, a British film about a group of youngsters going carp fishing will be released in cinemas next month
