Ian Jeffs couldn’t get in the swim he wanted at Linear Fisheries, but it didn’t stop him landing five fish including the lake’s biggest common.
Targeting Hardwick Smith’s on the Oxfordshire day-ticket complex, Ian’s biggest of the trip was this 34lb 3oz common, which is believed to be the biggest in the lake.
He said: “I fished for 36 hours in the Hotspot swim. I couldn't get into Summer Bay, where I wanted to be, as the complex was busy.
“The fishing was hard going as the days were very hot, but during the evenings and early mornings the carp were feeding. I made sure I topped up the spot regularly throughout the day and after each fish.
“I had five fish and this was the pick of the bunch at 34lb 3oz, which I believe is the biggest common in the lake.”
All Ian’s fish fell to Richworth KG1 pop-ups mounted on Ronnie rigs over crushed and whole boiles, hemp, corn and matching pellets.
