A self-confessed “occasional carper” has banked the biggest fish in Sandhurst Lake.
The clonking day-ticket common weighed in at exactly 44lb and was caught by accomplished all-rounder Steve Nunn during a social session.
The Norfolk speci-hunter told Carpfeed: “I fished a social with four other lads at Sandhurst last weekend and managed to winkle out the big common at 44lb on the nose.
“I had the take on Saturday afternoon at 2.30pm. Lifting into the fish I couldn't stop it for another 20yds!
“My mates were on hand to help land her and took care of the weighing and did an excellent job with the pictures.
“I'm actually a ‘specialist’ angler and only an occasional carp angler and this has smashed my previous pb of 31lb.”
Steve was fishing the popular Hampshire day-ticket venue with Sticky Krill bottom baits on a silty depression at 70yds on the end of a westerly wind.
