Beatties switches on after de-silting

A de-silting programme at a Devon day-ticket lake has sent the fishing into overdrive.

Beatties Lake at Stafford Moor has switched on after chalk was added to the venue.

Fishery boss Joanne Coombes said: “Beatties has been fishing its socks off! We put in 5tons of chalk about 10 days ago to break down the silt and bring back up the alkaline levels and since then the lake has had so many fish out!”
