In what he knew would be his only session of 2019, Nick Dudaniec banked this 52lb mirror from Anglers Paradise.
The fish, known as Silverback, came from the tricky Kracking Karp Lake at the popular Devon holiday venue.
Nick said: "Having recently relocated to the UK from China, and with our first baby due imminently, it was certain that my week at Anglers Paradise would be my only session of 2019 and last session for some time.
“I arrived at AP on Saturday having already decided to target the Kracking Karp lake, where the largest carp on the complex reside.
“After seeing some movement in the water, I set up in swim two and cast the left-hand rod to a far-margin swim, with the right-hand rod focusing on a nearby weedbed.
“I didn’t have to wait too long for my first take and by Monday afternoon the left-hand rod had produced two fish from the far margin – a scale-perfect 27lb 8oz common and lean 31lb mirror.
“Then on Tuesday morning I had a take on the right-hand rod. I quickly connected to the fish in an attempt to avoid it burying itself in the weedbed.
“After a long fight, and some good fortune, a huge mirror slid into the landing net.
“On the scales the fish weighed in at 52lb exactly. A new pb for me and my first ever UK 50. “Needless to say I am delighted with this result!”
Nick used Essential Baits Shellfish B5 boilies over chops, hemp and sweetcorn.
