A Lincolnshire day-ticket water has produced a new complex-record common of over 50lb.
The 50lb 4oz carp fell to Lee Duffin on Birch Lake on the Old Mill complex at Market Rasen.
“It’s a new personal best for me and a new common-carp record at the Old Mill,” said the North Yorkshire angler.
“It came on the first night of a 48-hour session, fishing 25yds out in front of two islands.”
Birch is one of three lakes on the Old Mill site and is about eight acres in size. It has previously produced a 50lb-plus mirror and can be fished for £30 for 24 hours.
Lee fed 20-30 mixed-size Fruity 13 boilies from Black Market Baits over a wide area and fishing a snowman rig to the edge of the spot.
His rig featured a length of ESP Tungsten Loaded tied to a size 6 Mustad BBS Longshank hook and partnered with a 3oz flat pear lead.
