One of the biggest fish in the day-ticket lakes at Linear Fisheries has been banked – after a 50-minute battle.
Ben Jones described the big Oxlease common – sometimes known as the Scar Common – as the hardest-fighting carp he had ever caught.
The distinctive common, which is thought to have been disfigured in the summer floods of 2007, weighed in at 49lb 2oz.
Ben, from Liverpool, said: “Words cannot describe how buzzing I am.
“After moving around three different lakes the move paid off with the hardest-fighting carp I’ve ever had.
“It took my 50 minutes get it in!”
The big common was caught over a bed of chopped tigers, hemp and maize, plus chopped Urban Bait Spicy Red Fish boilies. Ben used a noodle rig tied with RidgeMonkey components.
