The unstoppable Tom Maker has continued to show his ability at Linear Fisheries with 45 bites in 48 hours.
His incredible St John’s haul, which was based on a gut instinct, featured four thirties to 32lb 4oz, 34 twenties and five doubles.
The 25-year-old said: “I arrived early on the Sunday morning and had a walk round Manor, the lake I intended to fish and have been targeting for a while now.
“I managed to get a bucket in a good peg I was happy with the decision; however, on the way back to the van I decided to have a look up the shallow end of St. John's – a complete rash decision and something I cannot even explain, something just felt ‘right’.
“I spoke to a lad who was just leaving and he had caught a few – enough to convince me to move over.
“I didn't want to make too much disturbance once in the peg so a quick chuck about with a light lead soon found a decent spot.
“I opted to only fish two rods due to how close the pegs were and I soon had both in position with 10 spods straight over the top.
“It didn't take long to get the first bite and the action remained relentless throughout the whole session. In total I managed 45 bites and landed 43 of them!”
Tom fished at 70yds to a clear area surrounded by weed.
