Wading a bait down the margins produced Ashmead’s beautiful Long Common for Darren Walklin.
The fish weighed in at 40lb and was one of five caught by the Plymouth angler during a three-night stay at the Somerset venue.
“It was a three-day social with friends,” said Darren, “spent lost in the wild wetlands of Ashmead Fishery.
“The fish known as the Long Common came on the last morning to a bait waded down the margin and placed on the edge of a weedbed next to the reed line.
“A truly stunning fish from an equally stunning venue.”
Darren baited lightly with Sticky Krill boilies and particles and presented a hookbait on a lead-clip system with a size 4 Gardner Mugga hook.
