With just a week left on his syndicate ticket, Chris Ansell finally caught the fish he’d been after for five years.
The big common, which weighed exactly 40lb, 9lb down on its top weight, came from a Norfolk syndicate.
Chris said: “After five years on the venue I only had the ‘king of the pond’ to catch and late one afternoon this week she was mine.
“I was going to drop the ticket, which runs out on the August 29. With lots on at home I haven't been able to do many nights this year and being a tricky small lake, time is everything.”
Chris targeted a gap in some lilypads and fished a CC Moore Pacific Tuna boilie glugged in L030 liquid topped with a CC Moore Northern Special.
He added: “She went 40lb on the nose. I was chuffed with only a week left on the ticket.”
