Scaly festive beauties from famouse Oxfordshire day-ticket complex
Linch Hill’s winter form is legendary and Mark Litchfield is one angler who has cashed in recently – by fishing two rods not three.
The 51-year-old fished ChristchurchLake at the Oxfordshire venue over the festive break and banked this stunning 33lb 12oz linear and a 27lb mirror on Christmas Day.
Mark said: “While leading up the swim I found an area of soft silt with bloodworm coming back in lead swivel.
“After success last winter fishing just two rods I decided to repeat those tactics as the fish here are very line shy and fewer lines increase the chances of bites.
“The fish produced tentative takes, just tightening up with only two or three bleeps of the alarm.”
Mark, who fished for seven nights, fed crumbed Sticky Manilla boilies and sweetcorn at a rate of a kilo a day up until Christmas Eve then doubled that amount and added pellets for the rest of the session.
He fished hinged stiff rigs with 7ins Korda IQ booms and ESP Bristle Filament chod sections tied to size 7 ESP Stiff Rigger hooks.
