Spooling up your reels is an absolute pain in the rear.
It's easily the most boring task in carp fishing and leaves you cramped up and cursing.
But has salvation arrived from top US line company Berkley (a name it's impossible to say without appropriating an over-the-top American accent)?
Well, if you're seriously minted then maybe.
The Berkley Line Winding Machine is a whirring, churning, 1,800-revs-per-minute contraption that promises to "make winding lines to reels and spools fast and simple".
For a grand.
Yep, this product, which we found lurking in the back of Berkley's 'new for 2018' catalogue has a weighty RRP of £999.99.
We have absolutely no concept of how it works, but the scissors shown in the image give a hint of its size, while we have to rely on the catalogue description for more details.
It comes with "various attachments that allows you to strip and fill a wide range of spools and reels", so perhaps you could set up a spool-filling business to recoup some of the outlay.
It looks like it's driven by a foot pedal, like your nan's sewing machine, and has "fast, variable, easy-controlled speed up to 1800RPM". It is also "CE certified and ROHS compliant", which sounds reassuring.
