The Big One fishing show is the biggest event of its kind in the UK, and the 2019 event promises to be the best yet.
The show covers all facets of fishing but here’s just some of the thing that carp anglers can look forward to seeing…
The last new Delkim pre-dates the original iPhone so it’s no surprise there’s huge interest in the Txi-D head and Rx-D receivers.
They’ve only been seen once before in public, so make sure you grab a gander at Farnborough.
The official launch of StrikeBoat
The bait-boat scene’s newest arrival will be officially unveiled at the Big One.
StrikeBoat comes from a company with its roots in powered golf trolleys and promises an innovative range of vessels backed by what it says will be an industry-best aftersales services.
The boats start at under £1,000 with interest-free finance and part-exchange deals, so we are really looking forward to seeing the company’s C1 and S1 ranges.
There’ll be a new demo pool at this year’s show, offering speakers the chance to really explain their fishing tactics. Demonstrations of bait boats will also be part of the on-water offerings.
RidgeMonkey has come a heck of a long way since it was just a pan maker. Now firmly established as a tackle and accessories company, the Escape XF bivvies are another huge leap forward.
We predict big crowds around these shelters all weekend! More details here.
Something special from FishSpy
We can’t divulge too much here, as the official launch takes place in the week before the show, but we reckon a new version of the marker-float camera could be on the cards…
We honestly can’t think of a better show lineup in the UK in recent years.
For carp anglers alone there’s Terry Hearn, Adam Penning, Ali Hamidi, Tom Dove, Neil Spooner, Julian Cundiff, Ian Russell and many more.
And that’s before we mention all-round legends like Matt Hayes and Jeremy Wade!
The official launch of Wolf alarms
Luxury rod-builder Wolf is set to debut a working set of its new Icon bite alarms at the Big One.
Visuals were unveiled at the Northern Angling Show last month, but if all goes to plan these super-techy units should be shown working for the first time.
Korda’s new tackle box
This smart new tackle box has been teased on social media but should be on full view over the Big One weekend.
It seems it’s been a labour of love for Tom Dove (see teaser vid below), so expect plenty of neat features.
Trakker’s new rods
Best known for bivvies and luggage, Trakker is entering the rod market in a big way in 2019. The Big One will be one of the first chances punters will get to see the new range of Defy and Propel rods.
Yep, last year’s event had a few issues with parking, but they have been sorted for 2019.
This year, cars are allowed back on the grass area nearest the arena and there will also be much better signage and overflow options.
